Rev. Dean Ray, assisted by Rev. Duane Burden, officiated at the services. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Mashburn died on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at 2:55 p.m., at her home following a long illness.
Mrs. Mashburn was born on December 25, 1940, in Hopkins County. She was the daughter of the late Dudley and Brunett Villines Johnston.
Mrs. Mashburn was a retired farmer, and a member of Midway Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Johnston, and Glen Johnston; and a sister, Nadine Johnston.
Survivors include her husband, James Dewey Mashburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Traylor of Caldwell County; a step-son, Jimmie Mashburn of Caldwell County; a step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Patsy and Bob Wood of Caldwell County; a brother, Austin Johnston of Hopkins County; a sister, Ola Mae Peyton of Hopkins County; a granddaughter, Shelley Traylor of Caldwell County; five step-grandchildren, John Wood of Lexington, Endie Haney, and William Wood, both of Princeton, Brian Mashburn, and Emily Mashburn, both of Louisville; and two-step-great-grandchildren, Dalton Haney, and Lucas Mashburn.
