Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements for the funeral of Joan Victoria Conners, 73, of Cadiz, on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at 1 p.m., at the Ponderosa Baptist Church in Trigg County.

Rev. John Mitchell officiated at the services.

Mrs. Conners died on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at 8 p.m., at her residence of natural causes.

Mrs. Conners was born on April 26, 1934, in Chicago, Ill. She was the daughter of the late George and Estelle Piekarski.

Mrs. Conners was retired from Brake Parts in McHenry, Ill., where she was a secretary; was a member of the Newcomers Club, Homemakers Club, Women’s Auxiliary of The American Legion and VFW; and was a member of Ponderosa Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Apel

Survivors include her husband, Kent Conners of Cadiz; son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Chris Apel of Batavia, Ill.; two daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Ben Beaman of McHenry, Ill., and Kristine Conners of Prescott, Ariz.; two step sons, Andrew Conners of Albuquerque, NM, and Matthew Conners of Los Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Tom Beaman, Darcy Beaman, Randy Beaman, Jennifer Apel, and Jake Apel; and a step-grandchild, Sara J. Conners.

Rocky Ridge Runners provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Andrew Conners, Matthew Conners, Randy Beaman, Jake Apel, Tom Beaman, and Ben Beaman.
