Funeral services for John D. Osborne, 82, of Cadiz, were conducted on Friday, September 8, 2006, at 11 a.m., at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz.

Rev. Lloyd Tucker officiated at the services. Burial followed in Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Osborne died on Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at 3:20 a.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Osborne was born on August 22, 1924, in Charleston, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Myrtle Mullins Osborne.

Mr. Osborne was a Livestock Buyer; he was a member of the Fort Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Springs, WV, where he was an Ordained Deacon; and he attended the First Baptist Church in Edgewater, Fla.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John “Eddie” Osborne; a daughter, Judith Sanger; and a grandson, Michael Chad Osborne.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris Osborne, of Cadiz; three sons, Rick Osborne of Cadiz, Ronnie Osborne of Sinks Grove, W.V., and Danny Osborne of Edgewater, Fla.; a brother, Joseph Benjamin Osborne, II, of Lewisburg, W.V.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Clarissa King, pianist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Tim Osborne, Tim Halbrooks, Debbi Hylton, Kimberly Hallbrooks, Josh Persinger, Ron Boggs, Cecil Boggs, and Jeffery Sanger.
