Funeral services for John Edward Wring, 86, of Hopkinsville, were conducted on Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at 1 p.m., at Lamb’s Funeral Home in Hopkinsville.

Aaron Reed officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, West in Hopkinsville, with Military Rites.

Mr. Wring died on Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

Mr. Wring was born on July 15, 1920, in Salem, Ky. He was the son of the late Dowell and Blake Mahan Wring.

Mr. Wring was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII; was of the Methodist Faith; was an Electrician; and was a frequent volunteer for the TVA/LBL Association.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Adeline Wring Mills.

Survivors include his wife, Linnie Brown Wring of Hopkinsville; a daughter, Linda Wring Countzler of Louisville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
