Edwards died Friday, Oct. 9, 2009, at his home in Cadiz.
He was a retired agent from Standard Oil Co. where he worked for 40 years, He was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church, Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121, American Legion Post No. 74 of Trigg County where he had served as past commander. He was also a past member of the Cadiz Rotary Club, had served on the Cadiz Water Commission board for 28 years and was a US Army Air Corps WWII veteran.
He was preceded in Death by: Father-John E. Edwards, Sr., Mother-Lillian (Prescott) Edwards, Son-Jeffrey Edwards, One Brother-John E. Edwards, Jr., Four Sisters Sara “Sister” Robinson, Elizabeth “Tiny” Fleming, Florence “Bootsie” Wright and Lillian “Toodles” Malin.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years- Huel (Thomas) Edwards; One Son & Daughter-In-Law, John T., Jr. & Sue Edwards of Charlotte, N.C., and one granddaughter and Husband-Ellen Elizabeth & Dr. George S. Cheng of Fredericksburg, Va.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cadiz Baptist Church or the Trigg Co. Relay For Life.
