Funeral services for John Thomas, 91, of Cadiz, were held Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert McIntosh officiated. Burial followed at Futrell-Skinner Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mr. Thomas died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz. He was a member of Donaldson Creek Baptist Church, was retired from TVA and was a US Army veteran serving in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Burcham Thomas of Cadiz; one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Bonnie Thomas of Cadiz; one grandson, John Paul Thomas of Nashville, Tenn.; and one sister, Hazel Oliver of Hopkinsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Thomas and Palestine Futrell Thomas; three brothers, Rub Thomas, Claude Thomas and Hervey Thomas; two sisters, Meda Burcham Tooke and Adell Skinner.

Serving as pallbearers were Roy Thomas, Tommy Skinner, Johnny Oliver, Donald Burcham, Raymond O’Bryan and Jimmy Futrell. Music was provided by Rose Bush, pianist, and the Donaldson Creek Baptist Church Choir.
