A dictionary would define a “dead period” as an interval of time in which there is no use or operation. The Trigg County football and basketball teams would define it as a much needed rest.

Both teams had a lot of work to do this summer, and now at the half way point, they have already spilt their share of sweat. Adjusting to new coaches and suddenly young rosters were feats for both teams to accomplish this off-season while still having to get into playing shape and form team chemistry.

New head football coach Shannon Burcham and new head basketball coach Mike Wright took their boys all across Kentucky to face top quality opponents to meet those feats.
