Kenneth Rowe Averitt, Sr., 73, Clarksville, Tenn., died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at his residence. A celebration of life service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2010 at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman chapel with the Rev. Steve Louder and Brother David Averitt officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Averitt was born October 27, 1936, in Montgomery County, son of the late Ira Carlton Averitt and Callie Averitt. Mr. Averitt was in the lumber business and retired as CEO of Averitt Hardwoods International. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, June McCarty Averitt; two sons, Kenny Averitt and David Averitt (Debbie); daughter, Leigh Averitt-Neperud (Eric); two brothers, Terry Averitt and Larry Averitt; grandchildren Caroline Averitt, Jay Averitt, Emily and Chris dial, Michael Martin and Callie Martin.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Bill Grabenstein and staff and to the staff of Asera Care Hospice.
