The nonprofit group released the report and its data to argue in support for opening courtrooms and records involving child abuse, including whether state social workers were involved with the child or its family prior to the child’s death.
According to a report issued by Anya Weber of the Kentucky Cabinet of Health and Human Services, there were no deaths from child abuse in Trigg County from the 2007 to 2009 fiscal years.
In the 2007 fiscal year, there were 30 child abuse reports investigated, 26 in 2008 and 71 in 2009, the report indicates.
The report strongly encourages people who think a child is being abused or neglected to call their local Community Based Services office. They can also call 1-800-NEGLECT or 1-800-752-6200.
