Funeral services for Kittie Lancaster Outland, 83, of Gracey, were held Monday, January 17, 2011 at Locust Grove Baptist Church. The Rev. John Hagan officiated. Burial followed at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Goodwin Funeral Home of Cadiz was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Outland passed away on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. Mrs. Outland was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Vernon “Bill” Outland of Gracey; son and daughter-in-law Gayle and Shearon Outland of Gracey; grandchildren Jennifer and Michael Wallace of Big Rock, Tenn., Brad and Amanda Outland of Gracey; great grandchildren Weston Wallace, Haydon Wallace, Payton Outland and Austin Outland; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil (Nona) L. Myers of Cadiz and Mrs. Paul (Nada) L. Heltsley of Bowling Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bishop Floyd and Sadie Mize Lancaster, brothers Arrice Haydon Lancaster and Floyd Lancaster and sister Thelma Stout.

Serving as active pallbearers were Jim Outland, Jason Outland, Larry Bailey, Bob Stout, Danny Heltsley, Carey Don Lancaster, Josh Bailey and T. F. Fowler. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Billy Over, James Butts, Jessie Sumner, Gene Joiner, Bobby Shemwell, Donnie Shemwell, Ray Fowler, Dean Meredith, John Bridges, George Humphries, J.D. Wade, Bob Brame, Stan Humphries, Dickie Oliver and Donald Hargis.

Providing the music was Vicki Bridges, organist; Peggy Hargis, pianist; Jim Bob Outland, vocalist; and Ronnie Sadler, music director.
