Knight said that he graduated from Trigg County High School and worked for Knight and Hale Game Calls and Knight Construction until 1995. In 1996, he said that he built homes in Hopkinsville. “On January 9, 1997, I was sworn in as an officer of the Cadiz Police Department and attended the Police Academy. I’ve been involved with law enforcement ever since.”
According to Knight, he resigned from the Cadiz Police in 2005 to spend more time with his family. He served as a part-time deputy sheriff in Trigg County until his appointment as jailer. He continued to work with his father to maintain Knight Construction in the interim period.
