Knight’s ham fetches $1,500

Tyler Knight, Trigg County’s Kentucky State Fair Grand Champion ham-curer, fetched the highest price at Saturday’s Ham Festival youth ham auction.

Kentucky Machine and Engineering bought the ham for $1,500. The Reserve Champion, Ella Fourqurean, grabbed $1,000 from Fourshee Building Supply and Trigg County Farm Bureau. The third place ham, cured by Elizabeth Torian, fetched $1,000 from Trigg County Judge-Executive Stan Humphries, Farm Credit and Riley Livestock Company. Amanda Fowler’s fourth place ham got $775 from Craig Fowler. The Bank of Cadiz and Lawrence Brother Farms paid $775 for Macy Taylor’s fifth place ham, which was donated back and sold for $75 to Eastern Livestock Company and Crop Production of Cadiz.
