Mr. Baker died on Monday, August 7, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Baker was born on February 17, 1931, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Monroe Baker and Ruth Taylor.
Mr. Baker was a retired ironworker with the Dayton Malleable Iron Company, with over 33 years of service; was a member of the American Legion Post 590; and was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church of Cadiz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Torita Martin; and a son, Jerry Baker.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Baker; four sons, Darrell Baker and Roy Baker, both of Ironton, Keith and Jackie Baker of Raleigh, N.C., and Lacy Baker, Jr., of Detroit, Mich.; five daughters, Faye and Eufaula Fox of Hopkinsville, Ruth Ann Moody of Cadiz, Beverly Baker and Mimi Williams of Detroit, Mich., and Tonia Baker of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Burnetta Marrow of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Andrew Baker of Cadiz; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
