The win snapped a 10-game losing streak and the 19 runs were the most scored by Trigg since a 19-1 win over Crittenden County in 2005.
“We really needed this one,” Lady Wildcat head coach Scott Hill said. “We just really hit the ball well.” Trigg County pounded out 26 hits in the game, scoring six runs in the fifth inning and eight more in the sixth before the mercy rule kicked in.
Senior catcher Kalesha Williams had five hits for the Lady Wildcats -- three doubles and two singles. She scored four runs. Samantha Furr had four hits for the Lady Wildcats -- two doubles, a triple, and a single. She also scored three runs.
