The Lady Wildcats won their first round game in the Girls Seventh Grade Fifth District Basketball Tournament, defeating Livingston Central Middle School 19-11 Dec. 13 at Eddyville.
Trigg County fell to Lyon County 16-8 in the semifinals Dec. 16.
Against Livingston, Trigg jumped ahead 4-0 after the first quarter and led 8-3 at halftime.
Both teams scored five points in the third quarter, and Trigg sealed the win by outscoring LCMS 6-3 in the fourth quarter.
Brooke Allen and Audrey Futrell led Trigg County with five points each, while Annie Woods scored three points.
Elysia Brown, G’Teria Acree, and Kara Carneyhan each scored two points.
Tori Mitchell led Livingston with six points.
Scoring for the Lyon County game was not available.
A scoreless third quarter did in the Lady Midcats in their Dec. 9 game with Caldwell County at Midcat Gym.
Trigg led the seventh grade game 14-3 at halftime, but were outscored 4-0 in the third quarter and fell 25-20.
G’teria Acree led the Lady Midcats with eight points, and Brooke Kearney scored four.
Emily Meeks led Caldwell County with 15 points.
In the eighth grade game, Trigg County put a team of mostly sixth graders on the floor against Caldwell’s eighth graders and lost only 23-14.
Elysia Brown scored all eight of her points in the second quarter as Trigg pulled to within 12-10 by halftime.
G’Teria Acree and Olivia Higgins each scored two points for Trigg County.
