Trigg County rounded out their regular season in girls’ soccer with a pair of losses to Paducah high schools and a shutout loss to Hopkinsville.

Hopkinsville scored six times in the first half en route to a 10-0 win Oct. 14 at the Stadium of Champions.

Jackie Durbin and Valerie Milligan each had four goals in the contest as the Lady Tigers (9-7-1) outshot Trigg County 34-2.

Trigg County did win the J.V. game 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Lady Wildcats got an outstanding performance in goal from Megan Francis but it wasn’t enough as Reidland beat Trigg 4-0 Oct. 10 at the Complex.

Francis had a school-record 25 saves, many of those coming off point blank shots from the Lady Greyhounds.

Jayla White scored two first half goals for Reidland (7-9-1), including one in the game’s first minute.

Hillary Henson and Katie Knecht each scored goals as Reidland outshot the Lady Wildcats 38-2.

The game was physical for the Lady Wildcats (0-12) and got chippy at times with several elbows flailing from both sides.

The Lady Wildcats played without starter Molly Walters, who was injured in a vehicle crash several days earlier.

It was a different story Oct. 9 as the Lady Wildcats battled both St. Mary and the rain in a 3-0 loss to the Lady Vikings in Paducah.

The game was called in the second half with 29 minutes remaining because of stormy weather.

St. Mary (4-11-1) got goals from Mary Pat Baker and Valerie Parrish in the first half and Sam Bussey in the second for the scoring margin.

Megan Francis saved 13 of the 16 shots on goal she saw as St. Mary outshot the Lady Wildcats 22-1.

Trigg County is struggling to find offense, having been shut out in five straight games to end the regular season.

The Lady Wildcats were scheduled to play Crittenden County Monday in the district tournament in Princeton.

Game details will appear in next week’s The Cadiz Record.
