Trigg County ended their softball regular season with a come-from-behind 13-8 win over University Heights Saturday at the Complex.

The Lady Wildcats scored four runs in the third inning and three more in the fifth to wrestle control of the game away from the Lady Blazers, who scored four runs in the first inning.

Whitney Cain and Kayla Joiner each had two hits for the Lady Wildcats, who rapped out ten hits in the game and reached base eight times on walks.

After UHA scored four times in their first at bat, Trigg County countered with two runs of their own in the bottom half.

Felicia Crenshaw, who reached base four times in the contest, began the inning with a walk.

Cain and Ashley Adams followed with RBI singles to cut the lead to 4-2.

Trigg added four runs in the third as Dakota Littlejohn, Megan Francis, and Cain each had hits in the inning.

The Lady Wildcats extended the lead to 8-4 in the fourth inning on singles by Joiner and Crenshaw.

After struggling to find her control in the first inning, Cain settled down, allowing just one run over the next five innings. She struck out four and and walked just during that span.

Trigg County added three more runs in the fifth inning, aided by two walks and a UHA error to build their advantage to 11-5.

RBI singles by Kalesha Williams and Joiner plated two more runs for the Lady Wildcats in the sixth inning.

UHA (5-20) scored three times in the seventh inning to provide the final margin.

Trigg County ended the regular season with a record of 8-16. After losing nine of their first ten games, Trigg rebounded to post a 7-7 record over their final 14 games.

The Lady Wildcats lost to Dawson Springs 10-0 on May 17. No other details from the game were available.
