It wasn’t quite the start Dana Bush wanted for her Lady Wildcat soccer team.

Defending district champion Lyon County handed Trigg County a 10-0 setback Thursday in Eddyville, utilizing the new mercy rule implemented this year.

The new rule states that when a team reaches a ten-goal lead by halftime or at any point in the second half, the game is stopped.

Lyon County ended the game 17 minutes into the second half with their tenth goal.

Tori Fraliex and Olivia Akridge each had a hat trick for Lyon County, who outshot the Lady Wildcats 29-3.

Lyon County also won the J.V. game 6-3.

The Lady Wildcats host Todd County Thursday night at 7 p.m., and travel to Reidland Monday.
