Lady Wildcats off to slow start

Trigg County battled Calloway County and Mother Nature in their season soccer opener August 24 and lost both battles.

Inclement weather shortened the contest to 20 minutes, with Calloway County claiming the 3-0 win at the Complex.

Halee Wyatt had two goals for Calloway County (1-0), which had beaten the Lady Wildcats 6-0 in a preseason scrimmage six days earlier.

Trigg County managed just one shot against Calloway County, with goalie Katie Bogard making the save.

The Lady Wildcats dropped their district opener to Lyon County 6-0 Aug. 26 at the Complex.

Mandy Gray and Katie Gray each scored twice for the Lady Lyons (2-0).

Trigg County fell to University Heights 4-0 Saturday in Hopkinsville. Their record is now 0-3 on the season.

Rachael Quinn scored twice and sister Melanie Quinn once as the Lady Blazers scored all four of their goals in the first half.
