Funeral services for Laverne P’Pool, 84, of Princeton, were conducted on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at 2:30 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. Tom Hughes officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Blue Spring Church Cemetery.

Mrs. P’Pool died on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at 9:05 p.m., at the Rivers Bend Retirement Community following a long illness.

Mrs. P’Pool was born on March 11, 1922, in Caldwell County. She was the daughter of Charles and Iva Boaz Merrick.

Mrs. P’Pool was a retired, self-employed seamstress, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Everett P’Pool in 1970; a brother, L.W. Merrick; and a sister, Virginia Chambliss.

Survivors include two sons, Lanny P’Pool of Leeds, Ala., and Benny P’Pool of Maryville, Tenn.; two grandsons, Todd P’Pool and Chuck P’Pool; two brothers, Calbert Merrick of Princeton, and Ellis Merrick of Newark, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
