Marijuana and DUI

Cadiz Police Officer Chad Grace arrested Justin Johnson, 18, of Complex Road, Cadiz on March 21 for charges of Marijuana Possession and a First Offense of DUI.

Grace’s report alleges he received a complaint of reckless driving. Upon stopping the suspect’s vehicle, he noted the driver’s nervous appearance. Grace alleged that Johnson failed a field sobriety test. Upon arrest, the officer said that he discovered a small amount of marijuana.

Johnson at first consented to a blood or urine test at Trigg County Hospital, but later withdrew his consent.

The suspect was lodged at the Christian County Jail.

Marijuana possession

Officer Matt Dolezal responded to a loud music complaint from a Wharton Street apartment on March 22. Upon investigation, he found 29-year-old William Cruse, of Wharton Street at the residence.

Dolezal claimed that he noted a “strong odor of marijuana” in the apartment where two small children also resided.

Cruse admitted to having marijuana concealed in his sock and allegedly surrendered the supply, with rolling papers to police.

The police charged Cruse with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.

Warrant served

Cadiz Police Officer Jeff Ethridge arrested Prince Northington, 23, of West End Street, Cadiz on the strength of a warrant issued for the offense of allegedly Receiving Stolen Property (Misdemeanor) of a Value Less than $300 on March 23. No other terms of the warrant or the original offense were described in the arrest report.

Forged instruments

Police Officer Ethridge arrested Preston Norsworthy, 22, of Baker Cemetery Road, Cadiz on March 29.

Ethridge claims that he observed Norsworthy’s vehicle traveling along Jefferson Street playing music loudly. Upon stopping the vehicle, he discovered that the driver had a suspended license and active warrants from Caldwell County for two charges of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and being a Persistent Felony Offender.

Ethridge added a charge of Operating a Vehicle on a Suspended or Revoked License and arrested him for the Caldwell charges. Norsworthy was lodged in the Christian County Jail.
