Memorial services for Leon B. Fleming, 74, of Cadiz, will be conducted on Sunday, September 17, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., at Canton Baptist Church in Cadiz.

Rev. Paul Cannon will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in Trion City Cemetery in Trion, Ga.

Mr. Fleming died on Thursday, August 24, 2006, at 5:15 a.m., at Wellstar Hospice in Austell, Ga., following a battle with cancer.

Mr. Fleming was born on December 19, 1931, in Chattoga County, Ga. He was the son of the late H.B. and Flora Jones Fleming.

Mr. Fleming was the owner and operator of Lee Rents in Hopkinsville; was a U.S. Marine Veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict; and was a member of Canton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Fleming of Hopkinsville; a son, Michael Fleming of South Haven, Miss.; two daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Bill Abbott of Nortonville, and Cherie Vazques of Hopkinsville; a brother, Roland Fleming of Austell, Ga.; a nephew, John Van Fleming of Lilburn, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Jason Williams, Nathan Abbott, Jeremy Abbott, Michelle Abbott, Elizabeth Vazques, Isabelle Vazques, Leah Vazques, and Katie Fleming; two great-grandchildren, Christian Williams and Ryan Williams; special friends, Harold and Renee Toney of Madisonville, and Leon and Carolyn Bland of Cadiz.

Canton Baptist Church Choir, Ford Family, Mallory Taylor, and Harold Toney and Friends will provide the music.

Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of all the arrangements.
