The hardbound book has a retail price and is available at Eldora’s Books, across Marion Street from Hot Diggity. The author and Bryant will be at the bookstore on December 2 from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. for a book signing.
“The author came in I believe four times. The first times he came to eat, and on the third, he notified me he was writing a book and wanted my restaurant in it,” said Bryant.
Hot Diggity Dog is the only Trigg County restaurant featured in the book. Bryant said that the criteria to select an establishment included referrals from local residents and not being part of a chain. “I don’t know how many people were asked, but everyone said that (Hot Diggity Dog) was it. I’m really quite honored that so many people in the city like me so well. Being in the book is an honor, but recognition in the community is the biggest honor.”
Eldora’s Co-owner Portia Ezell said that the book had been popular. “We’ve sold out of it once. If you like to travel and like to eat, this is the perfect book. It’s always fun to read about and remember places people have eaten at in the past.”
