Funeral services for Lois Bruce, 71, of Morton’s Gap, formerly of Crittenden and Trigg counties, were conducted on Thursday, March 22, 2007, at 1 p.m., at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton.

Rev. J. Bill Jones officiated at the services. Burial followed in Mapleview Cemetery in Marion.

Mrs. Bruce died on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 6 a.m., at the Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

Mrs. Bruce was born on September 4, 1935, in Crittenden County. She was the daughter of the late Claud and Vada Oliver Fletcher.

Mrs. Bruce was an Emblem Assembly Line Worker at Shawnee Plastics, and was a member of Suwanee Furnace Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Bruce; and two brothers, Odell Fletcher and Wayne Fletcher.

Survivors include a daughter, Gina Groves of Nortonville; three grandchildren, Jeremy Stewart of Owensboro, Amanda Lee of Morton’s Gap, and Heather Stewart of Earlington; three sisters, Mary June Shaffer of Princeton, Norma “Penny” Rice of Hamilton, and Dorothy Foster of Salem; three great-grandchildren, Sydney Stewart, Ethan Moore, and Colten Moore; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Donnie Foster, David Foster, Butch Fletcher, Kent Fletcher, John Shaffer, and Jerry Rice.
