Burial followed in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Mr. Sons died on Monday, December 5, 2005, in Oklahoma City.
Mr. Sons was born on August 8, 1929, in Paducah. He was the son of the late Lonnie, Sr., and Eleanor Noel Sons.
Mr. Sons lived in Trigg County until he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1948, serving a one-year tour. He then lived and worked in Oklahoma City with a construction company, where he met and married his first wife. They had one daughter, Debi. Lonnie was later reactivated into the military during the Korean Conflict and served in Germany. Later he worked in sales in the welding industry in Oklahoma City, and retired in 1997 from NASCO, Inc., following 32 years of service as a territory salesman covering several states; and was a member of the Southern Hills Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Lee Madden Sons.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Evelyn Sons; daughter Debi Smith of Moore, Okla.; step-daughters and step-son-in-law, Leslie Melton of Oklahoma City, and Lenise and Randall Stephenson of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughters, Megan Melton, Randi Stephenson, and Abby Stephenson; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Joe Guess of Cadiz; brother and sister-in-law, Malcolm and Nancy Sons of Cerulean; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Maggie and Perry West of Oklahoma City; several nephews and nieces; and many long-time friends.
Resthaven Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
