Funeral services for Louis “Lou” Board will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at King’s Funeral Home.

The Rev. James Shuck and Rev. Paul Cannon will officiate at the services.

Mr. Board died at 9:38 p.m. at Murray Calloway County Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Board was born on April 6, 1927 in Gay, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Brooks and Mary C. Utt Board.

Mr. Board retired from the Steel Mill in Weirton, West Virginia; he was a US Army veteran serving in WWII and as a singer and songwriter. He attended Rockcastle United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nellie Board, one son, Samuel Board, and one stepson, Jim Bauduin.

Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Lorraine Board of Cadiz, one son and daughter-in-law, Michael “Butch” and Joanne Board of Cadiz; two step sons, Jim and Earl Bauduin, Pennsylvania; three daughters and son-in-laws, Sandy and John Smith of Cadiz, Jenny and Frank Bozynski of Cadiz, and Mary and Brent Curtis of Cadiz; one brother, Charles Board of New Cumberland, West Virginia, one sister, Velma Spencer of Columbia Station, Ohio; four grandchildren, Frank L. Bozynski, James Raine, Jr., Rick Rodgers, and Cory Rodgers, all of Cadiz; four step grandchildren, Tim Bauduin, Shannon Bauduin, Kimberly Nikolai and Jaime Todd, all of Pennsylvania; four great grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Chelsea, and Grace Bozynski, all of Cadiz and five step great grandchildren.
