Funeral services for Louise Thomas Boyd, 96, of Augusta, Ga., formerly of Cadiz, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home.

The Rev. Norman Ellis officiated. Burial followed at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Boyd died of natural causes at 4 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Ga.

Mrs. Boyd was born Saturday, October 19, 1913 in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late John Vernon and Clementine Wilson (Thomas) Thomas.

Mrs. Boyd was retired from Trigg County Farmers Bank with 38 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga., and former member of Cadiz Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher for many years. She was an avid golfer and well-known for her cooking talents.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Jefferson Boyd; one sister, Isabella Thomas Francis; two nephews, Thomas Houston Francis and Phillip Reagon Francis; one niece, Allison Boyd; and great-great nephew Robert Scott Francis.

Survivors include two nephews, several great nieces and nephews, several great-great nieces and nephews and several great-great great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were Tom Francis, J.D. Zornes, Adam Zornes, Jeff Bostick, Jordan Bostick, Jessica Bostick and Tom Vinson.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. George Thomas and Byron Boyd.
