Mrs. McAtee died of natural causes at 9:34 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Covington’s Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville.
She was born September 13, 1918 in Trigg County to the late Lethal Irvin Martin, Sr. and Ethel Larkins Martin.
She was a homemaker and was retired from the International Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Cadiz United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Wallonia Homemaker’s Club and had been active in the Trigg County Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William McAtee; two brothers, James F. Martin and Hugh G. Martin; and two sisters, Edna Martin Shelton and Manthus Martin McAtee.
She is survived by one brother, L.I. Martin, Jr. of Cadiz; one son, Wayne McAtee (and wife Joyce) of Cadiz; two daughters, Janice Bush (and husband Don) of Hopkinsville and Carolyn Stevenson (and husband Richard) of Hopkinsville; six grandchildren, Dr. Michelle McAtee, Dr. Andrea McAtee, John Wood McAtee, Capt. William Richard “Bill” Stevenson USN, Col. Michael Stevenson USAF, and Stephan Bush; ten great grandchildren, Megan Stevenson, Maria Stevenson, Kyle Stevenson, Ryan Stevenson, Jacob Myers, Noah Myers, Sophie McAtee, Zachary McAtee, William Bush and Kenneth Bush.
Pallbearers were Jimmy McAtee, Conrad Martin, John Wood McAtee, Don Bush, Richard Stevenson and Larry Martin. Music was provided by Pam Witty, organist.
