Memorial services for Lula Vinson Wilson, 86, of Portland Oregon, formerly of Trigg County, will be conducted on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at 1 p.m., at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Trigg County. The body was cremated.

King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz will be in charge of all the local arrangements.

Dr. Mike Jones will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the Vinson Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson died in her sleep on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at her residence in an Assisted Living Home in Portland, Ore.

Mrs. Wilson was born on April 5, 1919, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Carey T. Sr., and Mallie Guier Vinson.

Mrs. Wilson attended Warrenton Grade School and graduated from the former Cadiz High School and Western Kentucky Teachers College (now University). She taught in the Trigg County Schools at Oakland, Warrenton, and Linton. She enjoyed music and taught several local girls how to play the piano.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence A Wilson; a brother, Jesse Vinson; and a brother, James, who died in infancy.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Andrew T. and Ronnie Wilson of Portland, Oregon, and Daniel L. Wilson of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Thomas and Amy; a sister and brother-in-law, June and John Yeates of Newport News, Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Ellen Vinson of Pensacola, Fla., and Tom and Nell Vinson of Cadiz; and a sister-in-law, Connie Vinson of Cadiz.
