Rev. Denzel Sizemore officiated at the services. Burial followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Grooms died on Sunday, February 26 2006, at 11 a.m., at the home of her great-nephew, Ezell Crosby, Jr.
Mrs. Grooms was born on October 14, 1910, in Laurel, Miss. She was the daughter of the late William and Cora Huddleston Simmons.
Mrs. Grooms was a retired nurses aide at Caldwell County Hospital, and was a beautician. She was a member of the Faith Apostolic Church in Princeton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Chester Bridges and William Hector Grooms; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a great-niece that she raised, Jaunice Bumphus of Princeton; a niece, Idella Crosby; a great nephew, Ezell Crosby, Jr., of Hamilton, GA, with whom she made her home; and a host of great, great, great, great nieces and nephews.
