William N. Adamson, 27, was driving eastbound on KY 272 at about 5:15 a.m., and said there was a deer in the road, and that he swerved to the left to avoid that deer, causing one of the left tires on the truck to go off of the road and onto the soft shoulder, Hughes wrote.
Trying to steer the truck back onto the road, Adamson continued to drive along the shoulder until his truck hit the culvert, causing severe damage to the truck and injuring Adamson, said Hughes.
Adamson was taken via Trigg County Ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, where he was treated and released. The Trigg County Rescue Squad was also on hand. Adamson was driving within the speed limit, Hughes’s report indicated.
