Father Joseph Babu officiated at the Mass. Burial followed at the Rosedale Cemetery, Pembroke, KY.
Mrs. Harper died on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at 11:15 p.m. at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, of natural causes.
Mrs. Harper was born on Wednesday, December 5, 1923, in Chakradharpor, India. She was the daughter of the late Benjamin & Mabel Cattermole D’Mellow.
Mrs. Harper was a homemaker and former business owner in the Rockcastle Community. She was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church, where she was the organist for many hears. She was a member of the Rockcastle Homemakers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Harper, Sr, three brothers, Jessie D’Mellow, Benjamin D’Mellow, and Terrance “Teddy” D’Mellow.
Survivors include nine sons and daughters in law, William R. “Dickie” and Janet Harper, Hopkinsville, Wayne and Kathryn Harper, Cadiz, Robert “Bobby” and Layton Harper, Cadiz, Michael and Jo Alyce Harper, Cadiz, Dennis and Karen Harper, Aurora, Darrell Harper, Cadiz, Sidney and Tammy Harper, Cadiz, Terry and Cathy Harper, Hopkinsville, and Bryan Harper; Cadiz, four brothers, John D’Mellow, Springfield, MO, Patrick D’Mellow, Australia, Alan D’Mellow, Colorado Springs, CO, and Anthony D'Mellow, Evansville, IN, two sisters, Zena Thompson, Chicago, IL, and Gwen Dunbar, Endland; seventeen grandchildren, Scottie Harper, Jason Harper, Margaret Thomas, Aaron Harper, Ben Harper, Leah Harper, Jacob Harper, Justin Harper, Jared Harper, Tyler Harper, Joey Harper, Kyle Harper, David Harper, Jimmy Harper, Trevor Harper, Brandon Harper and Sage Harper; seven step grandchildren, Katie Scott, Sambo Wright, Brandi Bailey, Tammy Maiser, Mike Maiser, Audrey Roberts and Shawn Roberts; seven great grand children, Alexis Harper, Wade Harper, Aleia Kate Harper, Julia Grace Thomas, Grant Preston Harper, Preston Harper, and Braylyn Paige Harper; three step great grandchildren, Cannon Scott, Isabella Maiser, and Paige Allen.
