Funeral services for Mark A. Ladd, 95, of Cadiz, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2011 at King’s Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Bob McIntosh and Doyle Thresher will officiate. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday at King’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Daniel Stewart Cemetery.

Mr. Ladd died of natural causes at 8:05 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Trigg County Hospital.

He was born February 17, 1916 in Trigg County to the late Clarence Ladd and Minnie Warren Ladd.

Mr. Ladd was a farmer and was a member of the Rocky Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a past trustee. He was also a United States Army Veteran having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Wilson and James Ladd in infancy, Gano, Darwin and Raymond Ladd; and one son in infancy, Jerry Douglas Ladd.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mae Ladd of Cadiz; two brothers, Malcom and Amos Ladd both of Cadiz; one daughter, Mary M. Russell of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Melissa Russell of Cadiz, Sam Russell of Rosamond, Calif. and Becky Russell of Cadiz; and three great grandchildren, Cody Russell of Rosamond, Calif., Courtney Rea Russell of Cadiz and Amber Michelle Russell also of Cadiz.

Pallbearers will be Malcom Ladd, Clayton Ladd, Roger Ladd, Jimmy Towler, Jimmy Ladd and Ryan Merrick. Music will be provided by Clarissa King, pianist.
