Funeral services for Mary Lock Roark, 89, of Hopkinsville, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009 at King’s Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Hazelrigg officiated. Burial followed at Trigg Memory Acres, Cadiz.

Roark died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at 1:40 a.m. at Christian Care Communities in Hopkinsville of natural causes.

She was born March 20, 1920 in Wilmot, Ark, to Lucian Lock and Johnnie Richardson Lock. Roark was a retired School Teacher from Elaine, Ark., a member of Elaine Methodist Church and a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.

Roark was preceded in death by her father, Lucian Lock, her mother, Johnnie Richardson Lock, her husband, C.H. Roark, one brother, Floyd Lock and one sister Christine Harper. Survivors include one son, Dr. John Roark, wife Lisa, of Hopkinsville, one daughter, Marilyn Peterson, Elaine, Ark., three grandchildren, J. Roark, Hopkinsville, Carl Roark, Hopkinsville and Mary Rose Woo, Elaine, Ark.
