She was born in Macon County (Lafayette), Tennessee on August 22, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Ada Walton Herald. She was a homemaker and a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Macon County, Tennessee.
Funeral services were held at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tennessee on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. with the Elder Barry Miller officiating the service. Burial was in Rocky Mount Cemetery in Lafayette. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Marvin C. Hayes; four brothers: Ray Herald, Jimmy Herald, Eugene Herald, Tom Herald; three sisters: Essie Mae Herald, Lorene Parker and Carrie Casteel.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jasper Joe and Doris Hayes of Cadiz and one grandson Robin Joe Hayes.
