The Cadiz Record announced this week that Don McQuistion has taken over as full time sports reporter. McQuistion previously worked at the paper in the advertising design department in Paducah and then in Cadiz prior to being moved to the sports position.

McQuistion was born in Ohio, but his family moved to Marshall County where he graduated from high school. While at Marshall, he placed football and then moved to the high school TV station broadcasts for Marshall County basketball.

“Don has an extensive background in photography and knowledge of sports that not many people have,” commented editor and general manager of The Record. “He is not only knowledgeable of sports, but is able to interact with team members.”

A graduate of Murray State he was Sports Director of the campus television station and produced a weekly sports show as well as assigned sports stories to other staff members.

He was asked to join the startup of Racer Insider, a MSU fan magazine, and later served as assistant sports information director for the university. He replaced Susan Lax who left that position to take a similar role at the University of Kentucky.
