National Memory Screening Day was Nov. 13, but people living in Trigg County will have the opportunity to get a screening downtown on Dec. 6.

The screening, sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and Four Rivers Clinical Research, Inc. It will be at the Trigg County Senior Citizens Center on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Senior Center Director Carolyn Bland said there is currently a “national epidemic” of Alzheimer’s disease. She said the screening is for people of all ages, so she would like to invite the entire community to come and get their memory checked.

“People of all ages are concerned when there is a trend of younger people in their 50s and 60s being diagnosed,” Bland said.

“Four Rivers Clinical Research is excited to partner with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America to offer free screening tests to our Trigg County community,” said site director Debra Adamson in a press release. She added, “I live in Cadiz as a recent transplant from Evansville so I am certainly pleased to offer this service to my new community.”
