A Celebration of Life for Michael John Veitch, 48, of Cadiz, was held on Saturday, June 14, 2008, at 2 p.m., at the his home. King’s Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be in the National Arlington Cemetery in Washington, DC, at a later date.

Mr. Veitch died on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at 5:50 a.m., at his residence following a long-term battle with cancer.

Mr. Veitch was born on April 29, 1960, in Lowville, New York.

Mr. Veitch was an Account Manager for Hagemeyer in Charleston, SC; was a U.S. Army veteran, having served with the 5th Special Forces Group Airborne/Air Assault at Fort Campbell; served in Operation Just Cause; and served in the National Guard in Oklahoma City; and was of the Catholic Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Jodi Veitch of Cadiz; son, Landon Veitch of Corvallis, Ore.; three daughters, Shanell Veitch, Kacee Veitch, and Britny Veitch, all of Cadiz; two brothers; one blood brother, Torrel Boyd of Cadiz; a granddaughter, Danika Poltorak of Cadiz.

His grandfather, Clifford Ritz, preceded him in death.
