The Trigg County Middle School Midcat football team started their championship season off with a 12-8 win against Logan County Middle School.

Logan struck first in the first quarter by recovering a fumble for a TD and adding two more points. But, with a 40-yard pass from Jeffery bailey to Clay Iaquinta, the Midcats were able to close the gap to 8-6.

Thanks to a tenacious defense, led by Alijajuan Williams, the Midcats held Logan scoreless in the third quarter.

During the fourth quarter Jamal Adams ran in for a 5 yard TD for the Midcats making the final score 12-8. The 7th Grade team was also victorious. Jermya Love ran 50 yards for the only score of the game, making the final score Midcats-6 and Logan-0.

The Midcats would like to thank all of the volunteers, teachers and parents who made the games possible. We could not be a success without you.
