Entering the district championship game Thursday night against Livingston Central the Trigg County Lady Midcats had put together a terrific season, only loosing one game in Western Kentucky with a record 14 wins and one loss and a overall record of 14 wins and three losses.

The other two losses on the record came at the Middle School State Tournament against some stellar competition.

The Lady Midcats were the number one seed going into the District Tournament Thursday night and Livingston Central was the number two seed. However, when the final horn sounded Livingston Central was ahead on the scoreboard 45-39.

"The thing that I was most disappointed about was not the loss, but the fact that I know we have a awesome bunch of girls who really deserved to win that game,” commented Coach Davis. “Unfortunately in sports the best team doesn't always win though, it's the best team that day."

“Losing in the championship game after the season we've had is kind of like eating cake without the icing on top, its still sweet just not as sweet as you would have liked, said the coach. “As disappointing as it was for us to lose in the championship game, it still doesn't take away the success that this group of girls has helped bring to our Trigg County Middle School Program.”
