Midcats blast Crittenden to remain perfect

Trigg County Middle School ran their basketball record to 8-0 on the season with a 59-37 win at Crittenden County Middle Nov. 14.

Trigg jumped out to a 21-4 lead after one quarter and led 35-13 at halftime.

Seventh grader Zack White led the Midcats with 18 points, while Zeke Wright joined him in double figures with 11 points, and Jalik Alexander scored ten.

Josh Adams scored eight points, and Javin Grubbs, and Mitch Rogers each scored four points.

Crittenden County was led by Alex Porter’s 18 points.

The seventh grade team also beat Crittenden County 40-27 too run their season record to 7-0.

The Midcats broke the game open with a 14-2 second quarter run.

Zack White scored ten of his game-high 22 points in the quarter as Trigg County built a 27-8 halftime lead.

Alonzo Lewis scored four points, and R.J. Sholar and Chris Lawrence each scored three points.

Brian Berry led Crittenden County with 15 points.

Trigg County returns to action Monday at home against University Heights.

Trigg County’s Nov. 15 game with North Drive Middle was postponed due to bad weather. A make up date will be announced later.
