The Rev. Dr. Robert Peoples officiated at the services. Burial followed in Cave Spring Cemetery.
Mrs. Higgs died at 11:55 p.m. at her residence of natural causes.
Mrs. Higgs was born April 5, 1929 in Christian County. She was the daughter of the late John Burt and Jennie Rowland.
Mrs. Higgs was a homemaker. She was a member of Freeman Chapel C.M.E. member of Missionary, member of half Century Club, member of Noon Day Bible Study Class.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Mack Higgs.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Higgs, Hopkinsville, Gregory (Aida) Higgs, Oxnard Cal., five daughters, Patricia (Joe) Rogers, Cadiz, Gladys Higgs, Hopkinsville, Susan Higgs, Hopkinsville, Janice (Calvin) Higgs Johnson, Charlotte, N.C., Sharolyn Higgs (Kenneth) Lewis, Baltimore, Maryland, 10 grandchildren eight great grandchildren.
