Guest speaker of the Day was Cadiz Mayor, Lynn Bailey. Bailey discussed a variety of projects. He mentioned a new Subway Restaurant, expected to open in the near future behind WKDZ at the Broadbent Plaza.
The new Senior Center is under construction. It is located behind Food Giant. Also a Senior Retirement Home is currently being built. The Boyd House, another historic home on Main Street is undergoing renovation.
New home construction continues in Cadiz and Trigg County. The Tourism Center will receive a complete renovation. ?The lighted walking trail is now complete.
Cadiz has applied for a million dollars in grants for new housing to replace sub-standard homes.
A large new plant is currently being built by the Hemlock Corporation in the Clarksville-Guthrie area. It is expected to offer thousands of jobs once the plant becomes operational.
Bailey stated that in the past year 1,800,000 visitors have traveled through the Land Between the Lakes area. Many of those visitors have also visited Cadiz. Wilson thanked Bailey for the update on what is happening in and around the city.
