The National Archery Tournament was held May 8-9 in Louisville. Trigg County was represented well by 67 talented archers.

The Elementary Team claimed the Elementary Division Championship with a team score of 3233. Placing second was Meigs Elementary from Meigs, Ohio. Placing third was Westonka Elementary from Minnetrista, Minn. Fifth grader, Kaila Cunningham placed 4th in the Elementary Female Division with a score of 279.

Other places held by Trigg County Elementary Archers are as follows: In the Elementary Female Division with 602 archerys: Elizabeth Wagoner 13th, Sararah Shipley 16th, Deanna Ladd 21st, Virginia Cundiff 27th, Brooklyn Stevens 32nd, and Kaila Bingham 49th. In the Elementary Male Division with 1007 archers: Brent Jones 23rd, Skylar Pool 31st, and Gabe Nolcox 32nd.

The Middle School Team placed seventh in their division with a team score of 3258. The first place team was Ashville Middle School from Ashville, Ala. Patsy Banister clinched the Middle School Female Division Championship with a score of 288.

Other places held by Trigg County Middle School Archers are as follows: In the Middle School Female Division with 561 total archers: Shaye Patterson third, Shelby King 26th, and Lexie Hyde 50th. In the Middle School Male Division with 926 total archers: Ryan McCloud 53rd.

The High School Team placed second in the High School Division with a team score of 3397. They were narrowly edged out by Henderson County HIgh School. In 3rd place was Meade County High School from Brandenburg. In the High School Female Division, Danielle Reddick had a strong second place finish with a score of 291. She also won $2,000 in the Scholarship shoot-off.

Other places held by Trigg County High School Archers are as follows: In the High School Female Division with 588 total archers: Sloane Patterson 10th, Emily Shipley 22nd, Jennifer Hyde 31st, Christi Wilson 37th, and Ellen Shipley 38th. In the High School Male Division with 926 total archers: Timmy Blakely 9th, and Grady Cofield 28th.
