Gary Stanton officiated at the services. Burial followed in Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
Mr. Forsythe died on Saturday, February 4, 2006, at 12:46 p.m., at the Western Kentucky Veteran’s Center in Hansen, with ALS, Lew Gehrig’s disease.
Mr. Forsythe was born on June 7, 1936, in Lyon County. He was the son of the late Hugh and Katie Harper Forsythe.
Mr. Forsythe had worked at Pennyrile Machine Shop in Hopkinsville; was a U.S. Army Veteran; and was a member of the Cadiz Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Virginia Green Forsythe of Cadiz; daughter, Jackie Futrell of Cadiz; two step-daughters, Linda Blane and Tina Woodruff, both of Cadiz; three step-sons, Frankie Lewis, Robert Lewis, and Tim Lewis, all of Cadiz; brother, Lynn Forsythe of Princeton; sister, Betty Stone of Eddyville; two grandchildren, Hannah Futrell and Seth Futrell; seven step-grandchildren, Coby Lewis, Tud Lewis, Tessa Lewis, Nicholas Woodruff, Aubrey Woodruff, Lev Lewis, and Gabby Lewis, all of Cadiz; and three step-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sullivan, Malea Lewis, and Trevor Lewis, all of Cadiz.
Serving as pallbearers were Bill Williams, Lindsey Champion, Roy Neeble, William W. Futrell, Jr., Pete Thomas, Jr., and Adrian Stokes.
Honorary pallbearers were Barry Blane, Bobby Hammonds, Butch Powers, and Larry Holland.
