Mr. Groundhog said an early spring is on its way!! So no more ICE or SNOW!! But if it does reading can get you through. So we have the books for you.

February is Black History Month, so each week I plan for “Pam’s Picks” to be connected to Black History in some way. “Pam’s Pick” this week, “Is It Just Me? Or is It Nuts Out There” by Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi is the premier comedic actress of our day. She has won a Tony, an Emmy, an Oscar, and a Grammy, as well as two Golden Globes. She has also written another book called “Book.”

New Fiction: “Crescent Dawn” by Clive and Dirk Clusser, this is a Dirk Pitt novel. Dirk is oceanography’s answer to Indiana Jones and you know that means Adventure!

“Outlaws” by W.E.B. Graffin and William E. Butterworth IV, this is book six in the Presidential Agent novel. Things are not what they used to be for Charley Castillo and his colleagues.

“Twelfth Iman” by Joel C. Rosenberg, this is the story of tensions that are rising in the Middle East. Iran, Israel, United States, plus a mysterious religious cleric, makeup this excited adventure with David Shirazi a CIA Operative.

“Rescue” by Anita Shreve, this is a beautiful novel about the limits of forgiveness and the fragility of family.

New Christian Fiction in Large Print: “Silent Governess Moving” by Julie Klassen, this is a mysterious romance.

New Non-fiction: “The G Free Diet” by Elisabeth Hasselbeck, a Co-host on “The View,” This is a Gluten free survival guide.

“150 Easy Gluten Free Recipes” by Jules Shepard, for those of you can’t have gluten in their diets.

“Fodor’s See It New York City” by Fodor, this is a practical illustrated guide.

New Audio Books on CD: “Unnatural Exposure” by Patricia Cornwell, and “Tough Customer” by Sandra Brown.

CDs: “Slash” by Slash, “Black Ice” by AC/DC, and “The E.N.D.” by The Black Eyed Peas.

New DVDs: “The Path of the Wind” and “Caillou’s Winter Wonders.”

Book Signing and Talk: Thomas Harper will be here Feb. 26 in the basement of the library for a book sign of his first book that is due out Feb. 21. The signing/ talk will be from 10 a.m. – 12 noon. You can call Thomas to reserve a copy of “Images of America: Trigg County, a Pictorial History.”

The Library will be closed Monday, Feb. 21, for Presidents Day.
