welcomed Randall Evans as their new pastor on July 1, and he said he is delighted to be here.

“The congregation and my neighbors have great and really friendly,” Evans said. “I couldn’t imagine getting off to a better start.”

Evans is originally from Marshall County, where he graduated from Marshall County High School in 1994. He and his wife, Cammie, married in 1994, the same year they graduated from Murray State University. They have two children, six-year-old Marshall and four-year-old Arielle. They lived several places over the years, including Memphis, Nashville and St. Louis, before they finally ended up closer to home.

Evans said his last job was as the regional manager for C.H. Guenther & Son, Inc., a grain-based food manufacturer, in St. Louis. He had never planned on following in the footsteps of his father, who preached in Tuscaloosa, Ala., but ultimately decided to make career change.

“When you live life in view that one day you won’t be here, you wonder, ‘What is my purpose?’” Evans said. “Preaching allows you to go help people and better lives. To me, that’s better than helping yourself.
