Funeral services for Noble D. “Buddy” Mitchell, 77, of Cadiz, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home. The Revs. Norman Cotton and John Mitchell will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz. Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Mitchell died Monday, January 10, 2011 at his home in Cadiz. He was a retired carpenter from TVA and a farmer. He was a United States Marine Corps Korean War veteran. He was a member of Ponderosa Baptist Church and Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121 and was a Scottish Rite 32nd degree Mason.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Faughn Mitchell of Cadiz; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Kaye Mitchell and James Toney of Murray, Rita Phyllis Mitchell and Gary Parrish of Cadiz, Lana June Mitchell Thompson of Louisville and Nancy Larisa Mitchell of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Toney and Jacob Toney; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert T. and Zepha Mitchell of Cadiz; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Mitchell and Frank Gibbs of Cadiz and Brenda Mitchell and Danny Wallace of Big Rock, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Marie Mitchell of Cadiz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Mitchell and Nellie Irene Litchfield Mitchell, and two brothers, Kenneth F. “Pete” Mitchell and Owen F. Mitchell.

Memorial contributions can be made to Pennyroyal Hospice 220 Burley Ave., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Leitchfield, Roger Boyd, Loren Champion, Lennie Underhill, Todd Freeman, Tim Wagoner, James Hughes and Larry Lawrence. Music will be provided by Edith Litchfield, pianist, and Missy Fowler, vocalist.
