Funeral services for Mr. Norman Martin were conducted on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Rev. Albert Clardy, and Rev. Wayne Glass officiated at services. Burial followed at Memorial Gardens of Wayne County.

Mr. Martin died on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 3:35 a.m. at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz of natural causes.

Mr. Martin was born on Friday, May 30, 1913, in Waynesboro, TN. He was the son of the late John and Mattie Ray Martin.

Mr. Martin was a retired supervisor from Kerr-McGee. He was also a Member of Parkersville Masonic Lodge #484, Lamasco, KY. He was a member of Delmont Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Youth Leader.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Norma Martin Cestwell, three brothers, Ed Martin, Alfred Martin, and Lester Martin, one sister, Georgia Ayers, and one granddaughter, Allison Seibert.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years Nell Carter Martin, of Cadiz, one son, James Carter Martin, of Cadiz, one son and daughter in law, Ted and Teresa Martin, of Cadiz, one daughter and son in law, Viriginia and Harold Buck, of Nashville, TN, one sister, Aileen Carter, of Waynesboro, TN, eight grandchildren, Susan Sherrill, Hal Buck, Brian Buck, Lisa Busby, Amanda Vincek, Amy Oliver, James Shelton, and Jennifer Huesmann, seventeen great grandchildren, Nicole Sherrill, David Sherrill, Nate Buck, Jenna Buck, Jon David Buck, Scotty Lee Seibert, Mandy Chauhan, Britany McKnight, Leah Vincek, J.C. Busby, Clay Busby, Mason Shelton, Layne Shelton, Haley Oliver, Austin Oliver, Rebecca Seibert, and Katie Seibert.

Serving as pallbearers were John Busby, Hal Buck, Brian Buck, Tim Vincek, Billy Cherrill, Scotty Lee Seibert.

Delmont Baptist Church Choir and Ruby Hargrove, Pianist provided the music.
