Pennyrile notified its customers with postcards, notices in newspapers and on local radio stations, according to Spokesman Brent Gilkey.
Gilkey said that Pennyrile added a 13-kilovolt breaker and a breaker bay to the Cadiz Substation to service the Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority’s new pumping station.
“Our part of the outage lasted from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. It lasted an additional 26 minutes due to the TVA’s additional safety precautions,” said Gilkey. “Everything went as well as expected and we received less than 10 calls about the outage.”
Gilkey added that he was unaware of any additional outages planned for the near future.
